Two Indonesian PE makers shut LLDPE units, unclear restart date



It is reported that Indonesia’s PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk has shut its 200,000 tons/year LLDPE units in Cilegon earlier this week due to an unspecified technical issues. Buyers informed that the shutdown has not impacted contract business this month, however, there will be a supply disruption for July.

In the meantime, PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara has also taken its 200,000 tons/year LLDPE line off-stream earlier this week on an undisclosed issue. However, industry participants speculated heavily on a possibility of feedstock unavailability.

The restart schedule at both of the plants are unclear at the moment.
