Market sources reported that DCW Shriram has unexpectedly shut its PVC plant since last week due to lack of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) feedstock as a result of road block.
Based in Sahupuram, Tamil Nadu, India, the plant has a production capacity of 128,000 tons/year. The road block were caused by the workers’ strike nearby factory which turned violent, which lead to closure of the road heading to the DCW plant. The restart schedule could not be ascertained.
