Market sources reported that Philippines’ JG Summit Holdings is planning to build a new 250,000 tons/year HDPE plant as well as expanding its existing 190,000 tons/year PP plant to 300,000 tons/year at Batangas city. The new plant is expected to spend about 26 months for completion, meanwhile the EPC contract was not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the company plans to implement the following 3 projects by 2021, as reported earlier:
Project 1:
70,000 tons/year of butadiene
89,000 tons/year of raffinate
Project 2:
126,000 tons/year of benzene
76,000 tons/year of toluene
46,000 tons/year of mixed xylene
18,000 tons/year of other products
29,000 tons/year of non-aromatics
Project 3:
Increase ethylene production by 160,000 tons/year (existing 320,000 tons/year)
Increase propylene production by 51,000 tons/year (existing 190,000 tons/year)
Increase C4 production by 26,418 tons/year (existing 110,000 tons/year)
Increase pyrolysis gasoline production by 78,876 tons/year (existing 216,000 tons/year)
