Malaysian buyers reported to have received fresh PP and PE offers for February 2018 delivery from a major local producer with MYR50-100/ton ($13-26/ton) increased for HDPE film and MYR20/ton ($5/ton) for HDPE blow, meanwhile offers for other grades are a rollover as compared to last month. A trader added, “Our supplier initially planned to implement larger price hike, however recent stronger currency as well as slow market sentiment is holding back the price increases range. We are expecting that buying interests among our customers will be mainly based on need basis, as Chinese New Year holidays are approaching.”
