Tight margin forced China's Xingxing to shut MTO production

China’s Zhejiang Xingxing New Material has officially announced force majeure on its methanol-to-olefin (MTO) plant due to profit margin issues with recent surge of methanol prices.

Based in Zhejiang, China, the MTO plant has a production capacity of 690,000 tons/year. It has been shut since 21 November 2017 and restart schedule could not be ascertained.
