A major Malaysian producer reportedly announced December shipment offers for PP and PE to Indonesia this week at rather mixed direction, yet reflecting the actual situation within regional market. The general limited supply for HDPE encouraged the maker to implement moderate hike on these grades while both PP and LDPE are sliding lower.
Latest price list and changes are shown in the following table:
Many buyers are aggressively placing bids at $30-40/ton lower for homo-PP and LDPE film cargoes based on the fact that other Asian suppliers have already sold at these levels. “We plan to make some replenishment if our supplier agree to our bids. Demand in Indonesia is not strong, especially for homo-PP yarn,” a buyer said.
Large price discount for LDPE film reported in Vietnam earlier this week has also been leveraged in Indonesia as buyers enter active negotiation stage. “We are waiting for the supplier to revert on the final prices, however, we do expect to close deal below the $1300/ton threshold,” another buyer added.
