Chandra Asri Petrochemical reportedly lifted operation rate at its newly expanded naphtha cracker to 80% this week, the company source informed.
The company unexpectedly shutdown the cracker early Feb 2016 due to technical issues and has been running at 50-60% till this month. CommoPlast wrote before that Chandra is aiming to achieve 100% operating rate by end of March 2016.
Located in Cilegon, Banten province, the cracker is able to produce 860,000t/year of ethylene, 470,000t/year of propylene and 100,000t/year of butadiene. Market is expecting higher PP and PE output from the producer in the near term given more sufficient upstream supply.
