According to market sources, LyondellBasell is planning to lift the force majeure on all grades of PE at its 4 plants located in Texas, United States starting 1 November 2017.
The company has issued a force majeure on its PE plants in Matagorda, Victoria, Chocolate Bayou and La Porte since 28 August, which was 3 days after Hurricane Harvey at Texas Gulf Coast.
The plant in Chocolate Bayou has a 397 million lb/year (180,000 tons/year) HDPE plant, Matagorda has a 1.532 billion lb/year (696,000 tons/year) HDPE plant, Victoria complex has a 440 million lb/year (200,000 tons/year) HDPE plant, while the La Porte has a 783 million lb/year (356,000 tons/year) of LLDPE and 1.223 billion lb/year (556,000 tons/year) of LDPE plant.
