South Korea's SK Global to expand petchem complex in China



According to an official statement from South Korea’s SK Innovation, its subsidiary - SK Global Chemical is planning to invest a total of USD657 million to boost production capacity in China.

The expansion plan includes increasing ethylene production by 300,000 tons/year to 1.1 million tons/year, PE output by 300,000 tons/year to 900,000 tons/year and PP production by 300,000 tons/year to 700,000 tons/year, according to the statement.

SK Global Chemical jointly operate Sinopec-SK Wuhan Petrochemical since 2013 after pouring a total investment of USD2.92 billion into the venture. The expanded plant is expected to come online by 2020.
