A major Malaysian producer has reportedly announced October shipment offers for LDPE and HDPE to Vietnam today with large increases compared to last month. The latest price list indicated a $80/ton hike on LDPE cargoes and $100/ton on HDPE, bringing the offers to $1360/ton for LDPE film, $1460/ton for LDPE lamination, $1280/ton for HDPE film and $1310/ton for HDPE yarn, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

Buyers are very reluctant toward the latest price list and most other import LDPE film cargoes are prices just around the $1300/ton threshold at the moment. “The producer might be lacking of inventories pressure due to plant issues, however, we are not able to commit any reasonable quantity at such level. We are negotiating for some discounts,” a buyer said.
