According to media reports, a fire hits Malaysia’s Lotte Chemical Titan plant today, causing a “minor” damage to the petrochemical complex. There was no casualties reported during the incident and investigators are looking at the cause of the fire.

Based in the Southern state of Johor, Lotte Chemical Titan owns two naphtha crackers with combined capacity of 1.08 million tons/year of ethylene and 410,000 tons/year of propylene. Also at the same site, there are three PE lines, producing 335,000 tons/year of HDPE and 230,000 tons/year of LDPE and tưo PP lines with capacity of 440,000 tons/year.

At the moment, it is still unsure on the extent of the damage the fire caused. More update on the plant status would become available on www.commoplast.con soon.
