Chinese makers have lifted PET bottle prices this week with further increased of CNY200-400/ton ($31-61/ton) for domestic market and $20/ton for export market as compared to last week, amid limited supply situation.

A trader from China commented, “We are facing tight supply for export market as previously there are some oversold cargoes which is still pending for delivery. Hence, we are expecting for firm outlook in the near term.”

A beverage manufacturer said, “Our end product orders are still satisfactory recently as there are some orders for pre-mid Autumn festival as well as pre-national day holiday. We have placed some orders from local market this week based on need after getting CNY100-200/ton ($15-31/ton) discount.”

Export price for PET bottle in China currently standing at $1000-1020/ton, FOB China, LC at sight basis, meanwhile CNY8200-8400/ton ($1073-1099/ton excluding VAT), EXW China, for local market.
