It is reported that Thailand’s SCG was forced to undertake an emergency shutdown at its number 3 PP line last night after a technical glitch hit the unit. Initial estimation calls for 36 hours off-line, however, there is no concrete affirmation at the moment.
This is the largest PP unit SCG own at Map Ta Phut complex, producing 400,000 tons/year of PP grades, including yarn, injection, film and lamination. Meanwhile, the number 1 PP unit that was shut on 20 August due to electricity supply issues is facing a minor delay before coming back online.
