It is reported that a major Malaysian producer has announced fresh PP and PE offers to Indonesia for September shipment with relatively large hike from last month, especially on PP and HDPE cargoes. This is due to low operating rate at Malaysia plant and a source close to the producer added, “We are working to stabilise the operating rate at one of the cracker after maintenance, hence downstream PP and PE units are affected. Demand in Southeast Asia is not strong, however we hope the see some positive spillover effect from China.”
