A major Thailand producer announced August shipment offers for HDPE to Vietnam today with $15-20/ton increased from last month, reaching $1140/ton for both blow molding and yarn grades, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. However, only selective buyers received the offers due to limited quantity.

A source close to the producer informed that there is no HDPE film cargo available at the moment due to the recent shutdown. The source added, “Our customers have yet to place any bids. Our plant has come back to normal production rate, yet we need to clear the backlog. The general supply is tightening and we think market is set to firmer further in the near term.”
