South Korea's Hanwha Total restarts cracker



According to market sources, South Korea’s Hanwha Total has resumed the production of its plants today after unexpected shutdown since beginning of the week.

Based in Daesan, South Korea, the plants that affected by the incident included 1.1 million tons/year of naphtha cracker, 120,000 tons/year of ethylene glycol, two styrene units with total production capacity of 1.05 million tons/year. As reported earlier, the company has experienced emergency shutdown due to power outage caused by lightning strike on 17 July 2017.
