According to market sources, SCG Chemicals has restarted its number 4 HDPE line today after encountering technical glitches on 28 June that forced the company to undertake emergency shutdown. The 400,000 tons/year unit might be able to achieve stable production within this week.

The shutdown has affected export allocation for July and August, a source close to the producer said. There are inquiries from buyers for HDPE film and the maker is working to fulfil the orders.
