Thai producer lifted LDPE offers to Vietnam on tightened regional supply

A major Thailand producer opened new PE offers to Vietnam today with $20/ton hike on LDPE film offers from last week, reaching $1340/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. Meanwhile, offers for HDPE film and yarn also firmed up $5/ton compared to earlier April, at $1175/ton with the same term.

Firmer LDPE film emerged this week is a result of the tightened regional supply after an outage at Malaysia’s Lotte Chemical Titan earlier this month. Besides, Singapore’s TPC is reported to have taken the 180,000 tons/year LDPE line in Jurong Island off-stream due to feedstock supply disruption. Both producers are unable to supply regular allocation to market this month.

A buyer said, “However, demand is delayed in responding to such development and we are expecting more of stable trend in the coming week.”
