It is reported that re-export offers for Russian and USA origins homo-PP from China to Vietnam this week softened $10/ton to reach $1080/ton CIF, LC AS term. Sluggish demand in local China market while acceptable margins available in Vietnam has attracted more Chinese suppliers to offer both re-export and locally made cargoes to this market in recent weeks.

A Chinese trader offered re-export Russian homo-PP yarn cargoes commented, “We have concluded couple of deals at this levels to Vietnam. At the moment, we are also seeking opportunity in Indonesia market, however, prices might be slightly higher due to shipping costs.”

There are some signs that import homo-PP to Vietnam has reached the peak despite the lack of new offers from major Middle Eastern suppliers and buyers here are becoming reluctant to accept prices above the $1100/ton threshold.

In general, import homo-PP to Vietnam currently stand at $1080-1150/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.
