Just a day before major Taiwanese producer announce May shipment offers to regional market, Chinese carbide based PVC suppliers conceded to additional $10/ton discount on their cargoes to Vietnam, reaching $780/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

Regional players have been widely speculating larger reduction on new offers from international suppliers amid persistent weak demand in India market with a converter in Vietnam said, “The latest carbide based PVC prices indicated $80/ton month on month reduction. We plan to discuss with the supplier for a small discount to replenish some quantity. Demand for our end product remain stable at the moment.”

Another trader in the country received the carbide based PVC offer reported, “Domestic supply is bloated and we fear that this condition might persist in the near term given the upcoming fasting month that might weaken demand in many Muslim markets. It might become a main trend that carbide based PVC traded below the $800/ton threshold this month.”

There are very limited number of offers observed in Vietnam on the first trading day of the week as players await fresh prices from Taiwanese major. Carbide based PVC offers stand at $780-805/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.
