According to market sources, PT Polytama Propindo has successfully brought the PP unit on-stream on 22 February after completing a month long maintenance work. The unit was initially schedule to come back online on 16 February, however, due to unexpected electricity problem; the company has to delay the restart date by one week.
A producer source added, “We might not be able to meet spot marker requirement immediately due to a high number of back-log, especially for PP film grade.”
Based in Balongan, Indonesia, The plant is designed to produce 380,000 ton/year of PP. However, under a tolling agreement with its main distributor, the plant is currently making 15,000 tons of PP per month.
