According to market sources, Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (PetroRabigh) has encountered an unspecified technical issues an hour ago, forcing the company to undertake emergency shutdown at all PP and PE units. The restart date remains unconfirmed.

Based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, the company is able to produce 700,000 tons/year of PP, 600,000 tons/year of LLDPE and 300,000 tons/year of HDPE.

The company completed 20 days maintenance shutdown at all PE unit and number 2 PP line in December 2016, however, only the PP plant achieved smooth operation rate until today.
