Since major Taiwanese producer cut January offers to the region mid last month, carbide based PVC offers have constantly moved lower to Southeast Asia market, and this week, Malaysian buyers reported receiving prices at $820/ton CIF Malaysia, LC AS term. Latest prices indicated $15/ton drop from last week for the same cargoes.

A converter commented, “While it does seem like market is nearing the bottom, we still placed bid for $30/ton lower than initial prices. We are not confident about the demand condition in Southeast Asia and China in the coming month, however, if demand in India improves; suppliers might take firmer stance on their cargoes. We plan to buy in small quantity for now.”
