Asian market players reported that a major Taiwanese producer has sold out January allocation to all key markets just couple of days after announcing fresh offers to the region with $50/ton lower than last month.
It is reported that the maker remains focusing on China market this month, allocating nearly 50% of the total usual export quantity to the country. A distributor source informed, “Our principal supplier closed all orders on late Friday. With such speedy sales, we hope market would face less risk of weakening in the coming month.”
Meanwhile, the maker reportedly allocated 12,000 tons of cargoes to India and it appears that demand here remain weak. An Indian trader informed, “There are also some very competitive cargoes from Russia and Japan available, making it more difficult for Taiwanese major to deplete their allocation in India. This condition might prolong in the next two to three months.”
