According to market sources, import Chinese carbide based PVC to Malaysia has slipped below the $900/ton threshold this week following the latest price announcement from a Taiwanese major, reaching $880/ton CIF Malaysia, LC AS term.
A converter reported to have received the offers informed, “This offers indicated $55-90/ton drop from what we received in the previous week. Sellers appear to be under pressure amid visible weak demand in India and China. We are not rush to make replenishment. Price might reduce further ahead of the holiday season, hence we prefer to wait and see.”
