According to market sources, Haldia Petrochemical Limited (HPL) has unexpectedly shut its naptha cracker since 5 December 2016 due to technical glitches.
Based in West Bengal, India, the cracker is able to produce 700,000 tons/year of ethylene and 100,000 tons/year of butadiene. The restart schedule could not be ascertained.
