Fresh LDPE film offers to China indicated reduction

The import LDPE film to China has been following the stable to soft trend in the past week after escalated to multi-year high earlier November 2016. Today, couple of international suppliers have opened fresh price list to the country with $20-50/ton reduction from last week.

A major Thai producer down adjusted their LDPE film offers by $20/ton to reach $1380/ton CFR China, LC AS term after two weeks of holding steady on their cargoes. A distributor offered on behalf of the producer informed, “Demand slows down significantly as the peak seasonal demand for LDPE film is coming to an end. Even with this reduction, our regular buyers are not showing much interest. We think market might continue to gallop lower moving into December once previously purchased cargoes arrive to the market.”

Meanwhile, a major Middle Eastern maker announced new LDPE film price at $1340/ton CFR China, LC AS term, some $50/ton dropped from last week. A trader informed, “Initial market respond is very disappointed. We fear in the medium term, import LDPE film to China might breach below the $1300/ton threshold. At the moment, we prefer to monitor market further before deciding on the next move.”

Import LDPE film prices to China currently stand at $1290-1380/ton CFR China, LC 0-90 days term.
