According to media reports, Zhejiang Rongsheng Holdings Group is in partnership with Tongkun Group Co Ltd to build a world-scale integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in Zhoushan Island, China.
The multi-millions project is designed to refine 40 million tons/year of crude, which provides feeds to the downstream petrochemical unit located at the same location. In the petchem complex, the company plans to construct a 8 million tons/year paraxylene (PX) plant, which equally divided into two phases. Phase 1 is expected to complete in 2018 and followed by phase 2 in 2020. Among other products, there will also be a 1.8 million tons/year styrene monomers (SM) units.
It is reported that the construction work has started recently and initial schedule aimed to bring the whole project to live by 2020.
