Indonesian customers are stirred by the latest price list from a key local producer that showed steep reductions on PP cargoes from the previous week, just a week after the producer stepped back on the 2Q contract prices.

Distributors and traders are facing potential margins erosion as their replenishments are based on contract prices, which increased by $105/ton for homo-PP yarn and injection and $60/ton for HDPE and LLDPE film, while the spot market is falling rapidly.
“The market is very quiet. Contract customers are now wide-eyed over the reductions in the spot market. Anyway, the holiday mood has started and the trading sentiment is expected to remain soft in the coming week,” a trader added.
