Demand in Malaysia remains soft this week in spite of the fact that the country is easing lockdown measures, allowing more business sectors to reopen from the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Demand is recovering, but at a slower pace than we’d hoped for. The number of infection cases in Malaysia is still high, hence, consumers are still not comfortable going out,” a local trader commented.
Many Malaysian buyers were hoping for some reductions considering the sluggish demand condition across the Southeast Asia region that has been forcing international suppliers to soften their stance on import offers.
